» About Us
Children’s Hospital of Michigan is a place just for kids.
Our staff is specially trained in children’s health, growth and development and the best ways to care for kids and their families. For over 100 years we have worked together, developing better methods of nurturing and healing children.
We believe in family-centered care.
We know children heal best when families are part of the decision-making process, and are involved in treatment and recovery. At Children’s Hospital, we believe families are partners with us caring for children, and developing programs and policies; it’s what we call family-centered care.
Above all, we are advocates for children.
We advocate for a brighter future for all children, where each child is given the opportunity to reach his or her potential. We treat every child regardless of race, religion or ability to pay.
We are a teaching hospital.
Many hospitals provide good care, but very few provide the excellent care that is the basis for training future physicians and nurses. As a teaching hospital and the training center for Wayne State University students in pediatrics, surgery, nursing and other health sciences, Children’s provides special training for doctors and nurses, improving your child’s care in many ways. New staff members are educated in the most up-to-date methods by professionals known across the country and around the world.
We are a research center.
Medical research is an important factor in improving the quality and length of children’s lives. Children’s Research Center of Michigan is focused on treatments and cures for many pediatric diseases. Staffed by internationally recognized researchers and scientists, the Center is dedicated to giving every boy and girl the chance for a happy and healthy life.
