FOOD FOR THOUGHT
In southeast Michigan, more than 314,000 free or reduced-fee meals are served in schools every day.
Cereal is an expensive item for food banks to purchase for distribution. The 480 Gleaner’s Community Food Bank partner agencies – food pantries, soup kitchens, mobile pantries, etc. – are thrilled to have this opportunity to choose from a variety of cereal to offer to clients with an immediate need. Gleaners will distribute cereal collected by the DMC Children’s Hospital Cereal Drive. With your help, children who might otherwise be vulnerable to hunger during the summer when school is out will have access to this cereal for breakfast.
