Friday, April 18, 2014 - Pam Taurence is Our Hero, and Now She's in the Tenet Heroes Hall of Fame
Each year, Tenet Healthcare hosts an awards ceremony recognizing its best performing hospitals as well as individuals who set the gold standard in commitment and excellence. Among this year's recipients recognized during Tenet's leadership conference in Dallas, was Children's Hospital of Michigan Care Coordination Specialist Pam Taurence, R.N.

Pam was one of seven people selected for the Tenet Heroes Hall of Fame, Tenet's highest honor for an employee. Pam was selected from more than 130 nominees for her tireless efforts to end childhood hunger in Detroit, spawning a national collaboration between hospitals and communities.

Pam defines the best of who we are at the Children's Hospital of Michigan. She started the National Cereal Drive after being elected to the Professional Nurse Council (PNC) at the hospital. She had seen firsthand the harsh effects of hunger on children and wanted to help Detroit area kids who don't have enough to eat.
