The TRANSITIONS Residency Program at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan is a unique and comprehensive evidence-based transition program that prepares newly graduated nurses to be safe, competent and confident nursing professionals. Children’s 13-week pediatric program is designed to meet the needs of the graduate nurse and new RN. This highly competitive program is only offered three times a year.
Program Goals:
- Support the transition from student to RN Staff nurse.
- Increase commitment & retention.
- Validate competence & confidence in provision of safe care to patients.
- Create a culture of professionalism & support.
