The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Children's Hospital of Michigan at the Detroit Medical Center offers comprehensive care of all aspects of pediatric orthopedics, including the treatment of traumatic, reconstructive, degenerative and congenital orthopedic conditions. Services include diagnosis as well as surgical and non-operative treatment of:

  • Growth plate injuries and fractures
  • Elbow injuries
  • Scoliosis and other spine and bone deformities
  • Sport injuries
  • Cysts and musculoskeletal tumors
  • Limb length differences
  • Clubfoot deformities
  • Hip, knee and other foot deformities

The department is very sensitive to the questions of  young patients and their families. It  offers detailed patient and parent education by a dedicated and highly trained pediatric orthopedic nurse as well as multimedia teaching presentations. The waiting area is filled with toys, a child-friendly computer station as well as other amenities.

The Department also offers convenient child-friendly services in metropolitan Detroit including Children’s Hospital of Michigan , specialty centers in Canton, Clinton Township, and at DMC Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery Center in Dearborn.
