Meet the Chief Residents
Welcome and thank you for taking the time to explore the pediatric residency program at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. As you prepare for the next stage of your medical career, we are thrilled that you are considering Detroit as the setting for your pediatric training!
We feel strongly that the Children’s Hospital of Michigan is an institution that can provide you with excellent clinical experience, many opportunities for research, and a fulfilling quality of life. As a large tertiary care center, we truly manage the entire spectrum of disease entities-- from bread-and-butter general pediatric cases to the complex “zebras” referred from all over the country and even overseas.
Children’s Hospital of Michigan has consistently been ranked as one of the nation’s top children’s hospitals in multiple pediatric subspecialties. With an expansive new addition being built on our main campus, the Children’s Hospital of Michigan is constantly evolving and improving to provide the best care to the children in our community. Our faculty and staff members are very approachable and incredibly invested in all aspects of resident education.
In addition to the top-notch training you will receive, the Children’s Hospital of Michigan is also a very friendly and welcoming environment in which to work. Although you will be busy during your time here, you can look forward to an always-smiling pediatric education staff, co-residents with a strong sense of camaraderie, and a lot of support from attending physicians and ancillary staff. In your free time, Detroit is a city on the rise—with a revitalized downtown area, an exciting and ever-growing culinary scene, and four major professional sports teams—there is so much to explore!
There is much more to our program and the city of Detroit to share and we look forward to having that conversation in person! In the meantime, we wish you the best during the residency application process. Please feel free to contact us via our pediatric education department with any questions or concerns you may have!
