angie-pizzuti-headshotlarry-headshotDETROIT — Children’s Hospital of Michigan is announcing the appointments of Lawrence J. Burns and Angie Pizzuti to the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Board of Trustees. Mr. Burns is currently the president and CEO of The Children’s Foundation, while Ms. Pizzuti is the vice president and chief customer officer at DTE Energy.

Mr. Burns has a long history with DMC serving as Children’s Hospital of Michigan’s Director of Capital Campaigns early in his career. After working 27 years in healthcare and higher education, Mr. Burns returned in 2017 to lead The Children’s Foundation, which also manages The Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation. Mr. Burns has guided The Children’s Foundation on its path as a leading state-wide foundation for children and families. The Children’s Foundation now has over 100 community-based, service- oriented partners assisting children and their families, and has surpassed the $60 million level of community support under Larry’s leadership.

Ms. Pizzuti is a proven and seasoned customer experience executive with deep familiarity in all facets of large-scale customer experience and operations. She manages an operation comprised of 1,030 employees and a $130 million budget while acting as an agent of change by creating a persistent and compelling focus on the customer in the actions her company takes.

“The addition of these new board members is part of our ongoing commitment to deliver high quality, nationally recognized pediatric care to the children of Michigan and beyond. Their commitment to the communities we serve is admirable and I am thrilled to have them on our team,” said Kathy Donovan, CEO, Children’s Hospital of Michigan.
