New CEO at Children’s Hospital of Michigan

Detroit – Archie Drake has been named the Chief Executive Officer at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. His appointment is effective Monday, March 27.

He has been serving as the Interim CEO at CHM since last December. He came to CHM from Tenet’s Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas, where he was Chief Operating Officer.

“Archie has been a tremendous addition to our leadership team. He has a visionary approach to strengthening staff, physician, and patient engagement, as well as a passion for operational excellence,” says Brittany Lavis, CEO of the Detroit Medical Center. “His leadership successes have been based on a solid business acumen, broad based clinical and operational experiences, and creativity.”

He has extensive experience in hospital operations, strategic service line planning and patient care services.

Drake earned an undergraduate degree in nursing at the University of Texas-Arlington, and an MBA from Amberton University, Garland, Texas.
