CHM patient rings bell to celebrate being cancer-free after bone marrow transplant

Thu April 16, 2026

16-year-old Noah thought he had pulled a muscle in his leg running from a bee in October 2023. But when he went to the local emergency department lethargic and with pain in his thigh, a check for infection resulted in a diagnosis of leukemia.

Through chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant in April 2024 at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Noah has found comfort in music, both listening and creating sounds that combine rap, trap, R & B and other genres.

On March 30, he rang the bell at Children's Hospital of Michigan to celebrate being cancer free. He also shared a recording of a meaningful song he created during his journey with the team that cared for him at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, hoping to inspire others.
