General Information: Orientation for Experienced Nurses
Positions for Experienced Nurses at Children's Hospital of Michigan usually require at least 1-year's RN experience. Nurses who have worked less than 1500 hours (total) in direct patient care and Graduate nurses should consider applying to our Post-Baccalaurate Pediatric Nurse Residency Program.
Orientation Program Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is highly preferred
Holds a nursing degree from an Accredited College or University
Have RN license number in the State of Michigan
Ability to work 12 hour shifts, off-shifts and weekends
BLS Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association - No Red Cross

Nursing orientation begins the second Monday of each calendar month. Orientation is provided on the unit of hire and also includes some pediatric orientation classes. Unit specific classes may also be required.
