The Pediatric Surgery Department at the Children's Hospital of Michigan is comprised of Board Certified and Fellowship trained Pediatric Surgeons who provide comprehensive care of Neonatal, Child and Adolescent surgical problems, such as:
- Trauma Care
- Burn Care
- Extracorporeal Life Support (ECMO) and other aspects of Pediatric Critical Care
- Congenital Anomalies (including but not limited to)
- Abdominal Wall Defects (Oomphalocele, Gastroschisis)
- Digestive Tract Defects (Duodenal Atresia, Malrotation, Meckel’s Diverticulum)
- Tracheoesophageal Fistula
- Esophageal Atresia
- Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia
- Imperforate Anus
- Hirchsprung’s Disease
- Intestinal (Bowel) Obstruction
- Thoracic, Esophageal, and Pulmonary Lesions
- Biliary Atresia
- Polydactyly (Extra digits/fingers with no bone involvement)
- Tongue Tie
- Urachal Cyst/Remnant & Umbilical Granuloma
- Solid Organ Tumors & Cysts (including but not limited to)
- Wilms (Kidney)
- Neuroblastoma (Adrenal)
- Hepatoblastoma (Liver)
- Neurofibroma (Nerve Tissue)
- Splenic (Spleen) Tumor or Cyst
- Pancreatic Tumor or Cyst

- Common conditions of infancy and childhood
- Pyloric stenosis
- Short Bowel Syndrome (Short Gut)

- Gallstones requiring Gall Bladder Removal
- Hernia (Inguinal, Umbilical, Epigastric, Ventral, Incisional)
- Hydrocele
- Ovarian Torsion
- Redundant Foreskin & Phimosis (Circumcision)
- Undescended Testicle
- Skin and Soft Tissue Lesions and Masses (Lumps and Bumps, Benign and Malignant)
- Foreign bodies of the Esophagus and Airway
- Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease, if surgical intervention is required
- Gastroesophageal Reflux, if surgical intervention is required
- Feeding Difficulties requiring Gastrostomy Tube Placement
- Port Placement/Removal (most commonly required for patients undergoing cancer treatment)
- Choledochal Cyst
- Chest Wall deformities (Pectus Excavatum & Pectus Carinatum)
- Vascular Malformations (Hemangioma, Lymphangioma)
- Keloid (Burn Scars)
- Meatal Stenosis
- Pilonidal Disease
- Splenic Laceration

- Intestinal Rehabilitation Program including Pharmacy/Nutrition Support, Hepatologist & Surgeon collaboration

- Post injury inpatient and outpatient physical and neurological rehabilitation care
- Burn Treatment Center
- Verified by the American Burn Association

- Outpatient Burn Clinic including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy & Surgeon & Nursing support
